This one day 8 hour workshop will teach a variety of hands on techniques including neuromuscular trigger point therapy, myofascial release, cross fiber friction and passive & PNF stretching. Students will learn how to apply deep penetrating techniques in ways that are safe, effective and put minimal strain on the therapists body. Students will also learn how to negotiate client’s expectations while developing a care plan that will keep them coming back for more.
Beth built a long and successful career on her reputation for deep-tissue massage. She was the “most requested” therapist at a popular “Best of Philly” salon for over 10 years and wants to share her wisdom with those who are committed to doing this important, rehabilitative work.
The participants will be able to explain levels of pressure to their clients and elicit feedback for an optimal client-centered experience.
The participants will know how to identify contraindications to deep-pressure techniques and will be able to explain safety concerns to clients in ways that are not off-putting.
- The learners will be able to explain what conditions require a referral to other medical professionals and will understand how and when to communicate with their client’s healthcare professionals.
- The participants will be able to demonstrate deep neuromuscular trigger point techniques to all areas of the body.
- The participant will be able to demonstrate basic myofascial techniques to all areas of the body.
- The participants will be able to demonstrate deep cross-fiber friction techniques to all areas of the body.
The participant will be able to demonstrate proper body mechanics while performing the above-mentioned techniques.
The participant will be able to demonstrate PNF (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) and other restorative movement techniques.
