Medical Massage is outcome-based massage with the specific intention of facilitating healing and/ or symptom relief in clients with one or more diagnosed medical conditions. Medical Massage practitioners have an advanced understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and can adapt a variety of techniques to skillfully and cautiously alleviate symptoms related to their client’s individual condition(s).
Shiatsu performed on the table allows the practitioner a chance to experience the rhythm and flow of this beautiful modality. The receiver also benefits from the movement and depth of pressure that are foundational to delivering shiatsu. Once you learn a few simple principles you will be able to create a unique session for every client. These techniques also blend well with other modalities and give you more options to be creative and treat your clients.
This workshop introduces therapists to the theories and techniques of massage cupping, contraindications and common treatment areas.
